Basic MUX BOP Control System Course
Basic MUX BOP Control System Course


Who should attend:
Personnel new to the Hydril Pressure Control MUX BOP Control System or rig personnel where a new Hydril Pressure Control MUX BOP control system is being installed.

Prerequisites:
None.

Purpose of Course:
This course is designed around a generic stack and the Hydril Pressure Control MUX BOP control system. The course will give a student an understanding of:
1. What equipment makes up a control system,
2. How each piece of equipment operates and interrelates with the system
3. How to access and use the control system software
4. Basic maintenance and troubleshooting of the equipment.

When:
February 23-26, 2009; June 8-11, 2009; September 8-11, 2009; November 30 - December 3, 2009. Class duration is 4 days, 7:45 am to 5:00 pm daily. Refer to www.geoilandgas.com/hydril for additional class dates.

Locations:

Class Size:
Five(5)students are required. No more than fifteen(15)students per class.

Generic Advanced ET Course
Generic Advanced ET Course


Who should attend:
Electrical or Electronics Technicians on the rig or their Supervisors who want to have a better understanding of how the electrical and electronics subsystems function and how to troubleshoot the system.

Prerequisites:
A Hydril Pressure Control Basic MUX BOP Control System Course.

Purpose of Course:
This course is meant to build on the Basic MUX Control System Course. It will consist of class room discussions of the electronic circuitry in the Control System and techniques useful in troubleshooting the system. These techniques will be put to use in hands-on troubleshooting exercises.

When:
June 1-3, 2009; June 15-17, 2009. Class duration is 3 days, 7:45 am to 5:00 pm daily. Refer to www.geoilandgas.com/hydril for additional class dates.

Locations:

Class Size:
Five (5) students are required. No more than ten (10) students per class.

Basic Hydraulics Course
Basic Hydraulics Course


Who should attend:
New or inexperienced Hydraulic or Subsea Technicians on the rig who want to know what the hydraulic symbols mean and how to read hydraulic schematics to aid in troubleshooting the system.

Prerequisites:
None.

Purpose of Course:
This course will consist of class room discussions and activities to help the student understand about 50 differentsymbols used to construct hydraulic schematics. The student will also use his knowledge to construct hydraulic schematics and will interpret existing hydraulic schematics on the Hydril Pressure Control MUX Control System. This course will cover a class room discussion of the operation, disassembly, maintenance, assembly and testing of the Hydril Pressure Control Annular and Ram BOPs. Portions of the class will be a practical, hands-on experience, where students disassemble, inspect and reassemble a Hydril Pressure Control Ram and Annular BOP. Students are required to bring steeltoed boots, safety glasses and work clothes.

When:
As requested. Class duration is 4 days, 7:45 am to 5:00 pm daily.

Class Size:
Five (5) students are required for the class. No more than twelve (12) students per class.

Hydraulic or Subsea Technicians on the rig or their Supervisors who want to have a better understanding of how the hydraulics subsystems function and how to troubleshoot the system.

Prerequisites:
A Hydril Pressure Control Pressure Control Basic MUX BOP Control System Course.

Purpose of Course:
This course is meant to build on the Basic MUX Control System Course. It will consist of class room discussions of the hydraulic circuitry in the Surface Control System Equipment, MUX Control Pod and Control System on the stack and techniques useful in troubleshooting the system. This course will cover a class room discussion of the operation, disassembly, maintenance, assembly and testing of the Hydril Pressure Control Annular and Ram BOPs.Portions of the class will be a practical, hands-on experience, where students disassemble, inspect and reassemble a Hydril Pressure Control Ram and Annular BOP. Purpose of Course:
This course is meant to build on the Advanced ET Course. It will consist of hands-on troubleshooting exercises where the student will identify and solve problems on a MUX Control System. Class room discussions of the troubleshooting exercises will occur.

When:
As requested. Class duration is 3 days, 7:45 am to 5:00 pm daily.

Prerequisites:
A Hydril Pressure Control Basic MUX BOP Control System Course and the Advanced Hydraulics Course.

Purpose of Course:
This course is meant to build on the Advanced Hydraulics Course. It will consist of hands-on practice of the procedures used to care for and maintain the Subsea MUX Pod. The hands-on portion will be reinforced by class room discussions of the procedures. Students are required to bring steel toed boots, safety glasses and work clothes.

When:
As requested. Class duration is 5 days, 7:45 am to 5:00 pm daily.
